Ash Trees Admissions Policy
Ash Trees Academy is a primary academy for pupils aged from 4 to 11 years old, with a wide range of special educational needs. Pupils attending Ash Trees Academy will be working significantly below expected levels of cognition and learning, and may have additional learning needs such as ASD, or complex physical needs. All pupils at Ash Trees Academy have an Education Health Care Plan.
The Academy is based across two sites in Billingham. Our Bowes Road site is just a short distance from our smaller site, at Rievaulx Avenue. New admissions in Reception year group are allocated to class groupings at the Rievaulx site.
Consultations for places at Ash Trees Academy, are sent by Local Authorities via their Special Educational Need panels. Following the review of paperwork, an observation may be arranged with the current educational provider then feedback will be given to the Local Authority regarding the suitability of Ash Trees Academy in meeting the needs of that pupil.
At Ash Trees Academy, our pupils receive a personalised curriculum designed and tailored to meet their individual and unique needs. We have a strong focus on delivering key skills through a creative approaches. We endeavour to develop the whole child to their full potential, through providing enriching and hands on teaching and learning opportunities and experiences.
